Laying on the LotusMasters AcuMat ECO regularly for 15 to 40 minutes at a time we believe encourages your body to release endorphins and oxytocin – the feel-good hormones. As a result, your body should naturally relax itself and release its pent-up stress and tension.
Place your LotusMasters AcuMat ECO on the floor or carpet. Carefully lie down on your AcuMat ECO taking care not to slide yourself over the lotus flowers. Distribute your weight evenly over the contact points. You will likely experience some initial discomfort which should subside within the first few minutes. Breathe deeply and remain still.
For maximum effect, the LotusMasters AcuMat ECO should be used on a flat, hard surface to maintain the best pressure from the tips of the lotus petals on acupressure points of the body. We recommend starting at 15-minute intervals and gradually building your way up to 40-minute sessions or longer.
Please note use of the LotusMasters AcuMat ECO should not feel painful. We suggest you begin using the mat on a carpeted surface or your bed’s mattress, or with a T-shirt on. After a period of time, try using the LotusMasters AcuMat ECO without a protective layer. Direct use of the LotusMasters AcuMat ECO is recommended only when the skin is adapted to the pressure of the spikes – that includes all the positions referred to below. Initial contact with the AcuMat ECO mat may be accompanied by natural and mild pain which quickly changes into a feeling of comfort and warmth.
Try out these basic positions for total body relaxation:
Back: Lay flat on your back and let the lotus’ acupressure points work on your neck and shoulders to carry you into a deep and healing state of relaxation. Our recommended initial position for new users.
Neck: roll your LotusMasters AcuMat ECO and place under your neck, head and upper shoulders for an intense and direct acupressure application. Let your LotusMasters mat help you gently release these areas where a high percentage of muscular tension is typically carried.
Chest: Lie face down on the LotusMasters AcuMat ECO. Please use caution. This position is intense but highly effective for unblocking the front meridians. We recommend that you try this position only once you have become accustomed to back treatment above.
Side: Lie on your side, with your LotusMasters AcuMat ECO underneath your hip and thigh areas. We believe this position is effective for local pain relief and targeted circulation improvement, and may have anti-cellulite action.
Posterior: Stimulate your gluteal muscles and help relieve tension in your lower lumbar region by sitting on your mat.
Stomach: Promote circulation in your respiratory muscles and diaphragm by lying flat on your stomach. May even increase metabolism!
Feet: Try standing on your LotusMasters AcuMat ECO so that the tips of the lotus petals work directly on the reflexology zones which have a stimulating and balancing effect on the overall body. Using your mat on the soles of the feet may help improves stability and balance.
Lumbar Area: Roll your LotusMasters AcuMat ECO up and place it to your lumbar area for extra support while you work or travel. Use at a desk, in the airplane/train/car while travelling, and at home to ensure proper posture throughout the day.
Legs/Knees/Arms/Elbows/Ankles: Use the elastic straps that come with your LotusMasters AcuMat ECO to wrap your mat around a specific limb or joint of your body and secure it in place with pressure. Great for increasing circulation and may reduce inflammation in problem areas.
We recommend daily use of your LotusMasters AcuMat ECO for optimum results. As is the case of therapy or exercise, regularity is the key to success. With regular use your body´s deeply held tensions should be released and you should begin to experience a continuous feeling of ease.
